‘Woman.  Maisel star Alex Borstein started dating after her divorce

Alex Borstein had mixed results when she started dating after her 2014 split from Gilmore Girls actor Jackson Douglas.

“I was sure,” the “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” star told Page Six at the WGA Awards recently. “I was messing around with some gentlemen.” And some of it was disastrous, some of it was frustrating, and some of it was wonderful.

The “MADtv” alum dissects dating in his upcoming comedy and singing special, “Alex Borstein: Corsets and Clown Suits,” premiering April 18 on Amazon.

As for whether Borstein, 52, can keep up the tune he joked, “Tune in to find out.”

The “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” actress was married to “Gilmore Girls” star Jackson Douglas for 15 years.

He described the show as “a very personal and wildly fictional show. And it kind of details the stories after the divorce, and after twenty years. I’m like ‘What the hell? Who am I? What am I doing? How do I want to be perceived?’”

“And that’s really what it’s about.” It’s about perception,” he added. “How people are viewed. And you have to care how they see you?”

The “Family Guy” star, who plays matriarch Lois Griffin, married Douglas in 1999. Douglas filed for divorce in 2014 and they settled three years later. They have two children together: Barnaby (14) and Henrietta (10).

Borstein, who plays Rachel Brosnahan’s manager in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” has a new comedy and singing gig next month.

The actress, who also voices Lois Griffin on the long-running cartoon “Family Guy,” said the Amazon special is “deeply personal.”

It’s a busy time for Borstein, as the fifth and final season of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” begins on April 14.

The Emmy winner shared that while filming the final scenes, “she was the first one to cry. I cried like an idiot during the rehearsal.”

“It was heartbreaking,” he continued. “It was very, very difficult… difficult to shoot the scene. It was hard to cut. We just had to take that emotion and apply it to what was happening in the scene. But it was a lot.”
