Warwick and his “soul mate” Samantha actually met as teenagers on the set of Willow and have been married for 31 years.

Samantha, aged 16 when they met and the daughter of co-star Peter Burroughs, had a role as an extra in the film, and the pair fell in love, dating for four years before marrying in 1991.

Warwick was born with Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita (SED), a rare genetic form of dwarfism, which has been inherited by both Annabelle and Harrison.

“Madmartigan lives on!” As for Val Kilmer – who played mercenary swordsman Madmartigan – he may not appear in the first season of Willow, but he’s still “a big part of this”

Sam has achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism.

The news series shows Warwick warning his friends about an impending threat in their wonderful land.

In the teaser trailer he says: ‘We are the world’s best hope against evil coming to destroy us all!’

Warwick previously discussed how filming the original film at the age of 17 and the mental toll it took on him.

He said: ‘The only reason I got through it before, for me, was down to the director Ron Howard and Val Kilmer [who played Madmartigan],” the actor said.

“Because between the two of them, they didn’t let me feel the pressure of this.

“Today, to step up and be the title character of a film, I would feel the pressure of that. But when I was 17, I just thought, “Well, this is pretty ridiculous.”
