Wahoo Announces Integration with Trailforks Mapping App – Gear

Wahoo Fitness has announced the integration of Outside Interactive Inc.’s Trailforks mapping app into its lineup of Elemnt GPS cycling computers.

The Trailforks mapping app utilizes user-generated data to help riders plan and navigate trail networks.

Within the app, users can discover trails near them, plan and track hikes, find local events, and get the latest information on trail conditions.

Wahoo CEO Mike Saturnia said, “Integrating with Trailforks is a big step forward in ROAM’s goal of empowering cyclists to ride further and explore new frontiers.”

“This update makes the Wahoo ELEMNT GPS bike computers the number one choice for all cyclists looking for performance, ease of use and unmatched route planning capability.”

Trailforks also offers recommended hikes, heat maps, and trail reports.

This new integration feature allows users to sync routes directly from their Trailforks account with their Wahoo Elemnt bike computers and companion app.

Trailforks’ synced features include curated trails from its database, user-created trails, and traceable historical tours. Trailforks Pro, the upgrade option is not required to access this feature.

Users who upgrade to Trailforks Pro for $59.99 per year get unlimited in-app access to offline trail maps worldwide and access to all Trailforks features.

“In addition to planned routes, the Trailforks platform hosts racetracks and generates routes based on popularity.

The announcement is the second iteration of Wahoo’s latest release, the Elemnt Roam, which launched in October 2022.

The device has been updated with dual-band GPS, which provides an improved and more accurate navigation experience.

Wahoo also added a 64-color, high-contrast screen, increased Roam’s memory capacity to 32GB, and a 17-hour battery life. The new Elemnt Roam is available for £349.99.
