Use of virtual private networks (VPNs) was the highest in the UAE last year, despite a drop of more than 16 percent, according to new findings.

The study showed that the adoption rate dropped from 61.6 percent in 2020 to 59.5 percent in 2021 and 43.2 percent last year.
A total of 4.27 million VPN apps were downloaded in the UAE in 2022, up from 4.88 million the previous year and 6.1 million in 2022.
