See what’s new in Uber’s redesigned app

Your Uber the app may look a little different the next time you use it. On February 22, Uber added some new features and redesigned its app. With the redesign and new features, Uber aims to make the app more convenient and easier to use.

The company also said that the redesign is the first in a series of updates that users will receive in the coming months.

New home screen

The new, simplified home screen has two options at the top of the screen – Rides and Delivery for things like UberEats. The old version of the app displayed eight options at the top of the screen for things like travel, public transportation, and rentals.

There are also new tabs at the bottom of the screen called Services and Activities. The Services tab shows all the services available near you, from e-scooters to cocktails and flowers. The Activity tab displays all of your past and upcoming deliveries and other services. Consider this your order history.

More personalized options

If you usually take Uber from work to your house or only use Uber Green, the app makes it easy to choose these options.

When you tap the “Where to?” the Uber app displays “Saved Places” for faster access and displays destinations and ride types based on your previous rides.

The app also displays recommendations on the home screen based on your previous trips. For example, if you usually book your rides in advance, the app will show you other planned options.

New ride tracking on iPhone

iPhone users can track their Uber ride right from their lock screen.

For iPhone users, the Uber app is also easier to track. The app now supports it Live activities so users with iOS 16 or later can track their journey directly from the lock screen.

Uber’s app also takes advantage of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max A dynamic island. When these iPhone 14 models are unlocked, Dynamic Island shows you your Uber progress so you don’t have to switch back and forth between apps.
