Paulina Porizkova says she’s dating again after Ric Ocasek

Paulina Porizkova opens up to love. As a recent guest, HollywoodLife Podcastthe model explained that she was testing the waters with a new man.

During the discussion of the book U.S Terrence Real, 57, told the podcasters: “I read it when I was single and I thought, ‘The next guy I meet and I feel like the possibility of a relationship is going somewhere, I’m going to make them read this book before we really get anywhere. And so I can say, I just gave someone that book.

While the relationship is still in what the model called “early days,” she told the show that her mystery man had read the book and it “led to the most amazing conversations about ourselves, where we’re going and what we want.”

The model also told the podcast that she “didn’t know I could ever trust someone who wanted to be in a relationship again.”

Porizkova mentioned that she continues to struggle with “trust issues” and said “my work is not out there for me”.

The former America’s Next Top Model judge, most recently linked to writer Aaron Sorkin, was previously married to The Cars frontman Ric Ocasek. The couple, who have two sons, were estranged when he died in their shared home in September 2019.

Porizkova spoke at length about her complicated relationship with Ocasek, who she said could be “controlling” in a 2021 interview. A conversation with Amanda de Cadenet.

“He didn’t want me to do anything,” Porizkova told de Cadenet about their marriage. “He didn’t want me to go anywhere. He wanted me to be around him all the time. I was his soul’s emotional provider of everything, and I confused that with love.”

He called Ocasek a “betrayal” of his trust and love when he was removed from the will.

“I don’t know what made him do that,” he said at the time.

In 2021, the model told Yahoo that she’s rediscovering dating and sex in her 50s.

“I was only 19 when Ric and I became a couple; I’m 56 now, I just celebrated my birthday last week,” he said. “And now that I’m dating again, I realize I’m not very good at it. I’m still this weird teenager when it comes to dating because the last time I dated, volt A teenager. I’m not used to being a grown woman yet, so I’m probably stupid.”

In 2022, Porizkova said that she is still not completely used to the single life. He posted a photo of himself lying on one side of the bed. She captioned the photo: “I still only sleep on one side of the bed. After sharing my room with someone for almost a lifetime, I’m still keeping it open – for someone else.”

“I think there’s more power in sharing,” he continued. “Acknowledging and accepting our vulnerabilities and needs. Even the lone cowboy riding off into the sunset is not completely alone. He is on his horse.”
