Mumbai Mafia to Taaza Khabar, what to watch on Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar this weekend

Going out and socializing is something we all look forward to, but admit it or not, the chill in the air makes us want to grab a cup of hot cake and binge on our favorite shows. You’re also in for a treat because OTT is full of everything new. From Mumbai Mafia to Taaza Khabar, we give you everything you need to start frolicking in no time.

ON NETFLIX

Mumbai Mafia: Police vs Underworld

Directed by Raaghav Dar and Francis Longhurst, the series is about Mumbai in the 90s, when a crime lord held the reins of the city and wielded unchecked power. However, that was until the rise of policemen who called themselves “encounter specialists”. The series will stream from January 6.

Naai Sekar returns

Naai Sekar Returns marks the comeback of comedy actor Vadivelu. Directed by Suraaj, the film is about an actor who steals the pet of a villain. What happens after that forms the story.

Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street

The documentary series is based on the rise and fall of financier Bernie Madoff. He is known for orchestrating one of the biggest Ponzi schemes in Wall Street history. It will be streamed from January 4 on Netflix.

Ginny and Georgia season 2

Season 1 of the series, Ginny and Georgia, had ended on a cliffhanger and fans had since then been waiting to see what would happen next. Well, the answer to what’s next for Ginny and Georgia comes out on January 5th.

Pressure cooker

The reality show is a face-off between chefs who will battle it out for recognition, and also win $100,000. It will be streamed from 6 January.

The pale blue eye

Starring Christian Bale and directed by Scott Cooper, the film will take us back to the 1830s when an eccentric detective must investigate the gruesome death of a cadet at the West Point military academy. It will be streamed from 6 January.

ON DISNEY+ HOTSTAR

Taaza Khabar

A gritty comedy-drama series set in South Mumbai, Taaza Khabar is seen from the perspective of a shauchalaya worker, Vasant Gawde, aka Vasya, whose mundane and poverty-stricken life is turned upside down when a simple dua of a good deed gives him surreal forces. It stars Bhvuam Bam and releases on January 6.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch

Bad Batch will continue his journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They will cross paths with friends and enemies, both new and familiar, as they take on a series of exciting mercenary missions. The Dee Bradley starrer was released on January 4.

ON ZEE5

Uunchai

Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, Uunchai stars Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani and Anupam Kher in lead roles. Danny Denzongpa, Parineeti Chopra and Sarika play pivotal roles in the film. While it was released theatrically on 11 November 2022, the film is now scheduled to stream on OTT from 6 January. You can blindly trust that the film is your perfect weekend watch with the family.

ON SONY LIFE

Fantasy Island Season 2

The second season of the much-loved series, based on the classic drama series, is all set to stream on Sony LIV from January 3.

Story Of Things

Story of Things is a series of 5 episodes, where each episode tells a story about paranormal phenomena that people witness in their ordinary lives. Aditi Balan, Archana K, Bharath Niwas, Gautami Tadimalla, Linga, Ritika Singh, Roju, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Siddique KM, Vinoth Kishan and Anshita Anand play lead roles.

3Cs

Directed by Sampath Kumar, 3Cs – Choices, Chances, and Changes is an action thriller that revolves around three friends whose paths cross after a drunken adventure. Spandana Palli, Nitya Shetty, Gnaneswari Kandregula, Sanjay Rao and Ram Nitin will be seen in important roles.

ON AMAZON PRIME VIDEO

Phone Bhoot

The horror comedy opened in theaters on December 4 and received favorable reviews from most critics. However, it failed to live up to expectations at the box office. The film, starring Katrina Kaif, was released on Amazon Prime Video on January 2. Here is our review.

HIT: The other case

Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, HIT: The Second Case stars Adivi Sesh in the lead role. The film revolves around Krishna Dev of the HIT team who is asked to solve the mystery of gruesome murders in the city of Visakhapatnam.

Work later Drink now

Work Later Drink Now is a Korean series about three women who explore life in their own unique way. The second season premiered on Amazon Prime Video on January 6.

Locked in

Shut In is a horror thriller about a single mother who is held captive by an ex-boyfriend. It is directed by DJ Caruso and stars Rainey Qualley. Shut In was released on Prime Video on January 4.

AT LIONSGATE PLAY

Clerks III

Released on January 6, Clerks III follows Kevin Smith as he looks back on his life in the third and final chapter of the iconic franchise. The series started with Kevin Smith’s career. Using his own heart attack as inspiration, Kevin View completes the Askewniverse trilogy by bringing the story back to Randal, who survives a massive heart attack and enlists fellow clerks Dante, Elias, Jay and Silent Bob to make a film immortalizing his life when does it fit. store that started it all.

Crossfire

Keeley Hawes stars as Jo in Crossfire, a woman on a family holiday whose world is suddenly changed when gunmen suddenly open fire. It turns a picturesque Spanish resort into a living nightmare. Crossfire will be released on January 6.

ON DISCOVERY+

January 6

The documentary, titled January 6, premiering on Discovery+ on January 5, will feature first responders and survivors of the 2021 Capitol uprising. The documentary, directed by Gedeon and Jules Naudet, aims to tell “the definitive story of the siege of the Capitol.”

ON APPLE TV

Echo 3: Season 1, Episode 9

Echo 3 is a new action thriller based on black ops that premiered on Apple TV+ in November 2022, and received a positive response from both audiences and critics. Following the successful eighth episode, episode 9 from season one premieres on January 6.

The Mosquito Coast: Season 2, Episode 10 (Final)

Mosquito Coast is a gripping adventure that follows brilliant inventor Allie Fox and his family as they go on the run. The story of the series tells about a family on the run after their daring escape from a local police station. The last episode of the series premieres on January 6.
