Lukas Gage is fueling rumors that he is dating hairdresser Chris Appleton

Lukas Gage has scoffed at rumors of his alleged romance with hairdresser Chris Appleton.

“If that’s what they want to think, they can,” Gage told The New York Times when asked about the uproar.

The “White Lotus” star added that dating in public was difficult.

“I’m a pretty open book about most things in my life, but I have a problem with the culture that everyone has to know everyone else’s business and nothing is sacred. It’s a weird line that I’m still trying to figure out.

Although Gage tried to keep their relationship low-key, Appleton reposted the NYT article on her Instagram Story, writing, “Hot & Talented 🔥.”

In fact, the couple made their red carpet debut at a Vanity Fair event on Wednesday night.

The “You” actor and Appleton couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they were photographed wrapped around each other.

While Gage opted for an all-white look, Appleton kept it classy with a white silk button-up and simple black suit.

The getaway comes less than a month after the two sparked dating rumors by posting photos together from a lavish vacation in Mexico.

In one photo, Gage, 27, and Appleton, 39, posed on top of an ATV. After strapping themselves in, the pair took a selfie in their protective gear.

Meanwhile, the celebrity hairdresser – who has become a favorite of Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez – posted a selfie of the men wading shirtless in the ocean.

Despite the couple doing their best to keep their rumored romance under wraps, their friends were quick to flood the comments section with little hints.

“IG official ❤️,” makeup artist Mary Phillips wrote, while fellow hairstylist Priscilla Valles added: “You guys are too cute!” Hooray!!”
