When this feature rolls out to everyone, the support page for restoring stripes will not be available. Therefore, the only way to restore Snapstreaks in 2023 is through the in-app feature. Snapchat’s support page mentions that if users have recently lost their Snapstreak, they can restore it from their chat feed. As seen in the image shared by the platform, users will see the reset option next to their friends’ names along with the details of the expired streak. Snapchat also displays a banner for them to remind users of this and allow them to take action. While users may think this is a more convenient solution, there is a catch.

Snapchatters can only restore one streak for free with Streak Restore. And it’s not just one per user; users can only restore one streak regardless of how many friends they have. After that, they would have to pay 99 cents for each person they wanted to revive. Since users have filled a whole form that asks for many details like username, email id, phone number, model and more, there is a good chance that they will pay to get the series back.

For all intents and purposes, the Streak Restore feature is the company’s attempt to get more cash. Last year, Snapchat’s parent company, Snap, mentioned in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that due to poor revenue growth, it was shifting its focus from experimental or non-monetized features like Snap Games to products that could help. the company makes more money. Nonetheless, Snapchat is also working on an exclusive feature for paid users that will allow users to pause their streaks if they want to take a break from the platform.
