Katherine Ryan opens up about calling out James Argento and Leonardo DiCaprio for dating teenage girls

Katherine Ryan has explained why she called out Leonardo DiCaprio and James Argento for dating teenage girls, calling it “gross” and “weird”.

The 39-year-old comedian has previously been outspoken about the two men, making videos and tweets poking fun at them for dating.

Now speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Katherine has revealed that she is happy to be the ‘poster girl’ for slamming older male celebrities who date teenagers as she hopes it will catch on with young women.

He began by insisting, “I’m not at all interested in backlash or killing culture. I care about hurting people’s feelings, believe it or not.

“I know James Argent has had a difficult time and I don’t want to heap criticism on someone who is vulnerable.

But at the end of the day, I kind of became the poster girl, fighting against grown men, powerful men, famous men dating teenagers. I didn’t choose that life, this life chose me.

“I don’t think it’s controversial to say it’s gross or weird, and I’m very happy to beat this drum as long as I need to.”

She added: “And I don’t talk to men because I get the response from them, in my messages these men are like, ‘Oh, I’m sorry you’d rather date a Ferrari than an old jerk and not ‘I don’t want you’ like I’m ever going to give them the time of day!

“But I don’t talk to men at all because I understand that a lot of people find that age group attractive – I’m not going to solve that problem.

“I speak to young women because I happen to have the ears of a lot of teenage girls and young women.

“I look at my audience and I have people my own age, I have couples, but I also have a lot of teenagers, so even if one of them hears what I’m saying and says, ‘Oh, maybe that guy is interested in me, because being bossy he wants me, or because women his age don’t want to talk to him, maybe I’ll skip that”.

She shouted: “I’m basically Leonardo DiCaprio trying to get to as many young women as possible.”

Earlier, Katherine blasted James, 34, for dating 18-year-old actress Stella Turian.

TOWIE star James and Stella have been together for more than eight months after meeting at a wedding in Mykonos last year.

They are in a long-distance relationship as Stella, who is 16 years Arg’s junior, lives in her native Italy, while James lives in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.

Elsewhere in the chat, Katherine revealed how “fun” she finds hitting back at trolls online.

She said: “It’s not hard for me to accept the negativity at all, I really don’t mind it, I’m lucky enough not to mind it.

“The only barrier to clapping back is that the younger generation has taught me that some people are not mentally healthy and that other issues contribute to them being trolls.

So anytime I clap back, the only fun for me is looking at that person’s profile and being able to tell if they might be struggling with something or just plain ugly.

“I’m just trying to clap back at people who are generally ugly, and I think that’s really fun. And I think it’s an example of not taking yourself too seriously, and I don’t feel guilty because when they come for me, they realize very quickly that they’re looking for the wrong thing.

He added: “It’s fun, it’s bullying in the right way.”
