Austin Butler’s Girlfriend: Who Is Kaia Gerber?
Austin Butler is currently dating model Kaia Gerber – the daughter of the American supermodel of the 90s, Cindy Crawford. The two were first linked in late 2021 and are still together in 2023, with Austin’s girlfriend supporting her beau at several awards season events.
Kaia – who turned 21 last September – has appeared in luxury fashion campaigns for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Stella McCartney and YSL. She made her catwalk debut in 2017 – at the age of 16 at the time – in Raf Simon’s Calvin Klein collection. Since then, she’s walked the runway for everyone from Burberry and Prada to Valentino and Versace.
Perhaps inspired by her friend’s talent, Kaia has ventured into acting herself and has had several projects released this year. Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber’s Relationship Explained:
Austin and Kaia have not discussed their relationship in the press. In May 2022, during an interview with GQ Hype (opens in a new tab) the Elvis star was asked about his girlfriend, to which he replied, “I don’t think there’s anything to share about that. But thank you for holding the seat.”
Although tight-lipped, the couple have put on a display of love at public events. Kaia most recently supported Austin at W Magazine’s Best Performances party on February 25th. According to sources, Page Six (opens in a new tab) that the couple “made it all night.” Kaia and Austin attended the same event last March.
The two left it at that for a while before making their public debut as a couple. This was the Daily Mail (opens in a new tab) who first spotted them together in December 2021. Kaia and Austin attended a yoga class on a sunny Sunday morning before leaving together in Kaia’s car.
Confirmation followed soon after: via Us Weekly (opens in a new tab), a source told the publication that the two are more than just friends. “They’re dating all the time. It’s still very new,” they said.
More paparazzi shots confirm that Kaia and Austin are still going strong in early 2022, and were spotted on a romantic stroll in London on Valentine’s Day. Just Jared (opens in a new tab) spotted them with outdoor snacks. The next day, the couple flew back to New York.
Fast forward to May 2022, and fans will finally see the two step out on the red carpet together — which in Hollywood means “making it official.” Austin and Kaia chose the Met Gala to cement their relationship. They both smiled and couldn’t take their eyes off each other.

At the end of the month, fans will see the pair together again – this time at the annual Cannes Film Festival. Austin is at the premiere of his movie Elvis and Kaia’s girlfriend joins him for the viewing. After the audience’s ovation, the two celebrate by kissing.

Austin Butler – Previous Girlfriends
Kaia isn’t Austin Butler’s only famous girlfriend. In fact, the movie star’s romantic story includes an adventure with him Elvis co-star Olivia DeJonge and long-term relationship High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens.
Austin Butler and Vanessa Hudgens reportedly started dating in late 2011 and were together for 9 years before calling it quits in 2020. During their relationship, they constantly walked the red carpet together.

While neither party has publicly confirmed the split, Austin had this to say when asked about their time together in a GQ interview. “Life is full of change and you have to find a way to keep evolving and growing,” he said.
As for his ‘relationship’ with Olivia DeJonge – that remains unconfirmed. There were reports that they were seen snuggling in a movie theater (opens in a new tab) time around Elvis filming. Neither has publicly commented on such relationships.
