Alex Scott has revealed he is ‘struggling’ to find a partner and has taken Jamie Redknapp’s advice in the hope of finding his perfect match.

The 38-year-old football pundit admitted he is “single and ready to mingle” as he spoke candidly about trying to find a “relationship” with someone.

That’s what he explained she is “open” to meeting men and women and “never holds back” when it comes to dating.

Alex has never publicly confirmed his sexuality, but previously spoke in his memoir about fellow footballer Kelly Smith, who was a teammate of his at Arsenal.

When it comes to her dating life, she is he told Grazia magazine: “It’s very difficult [to find someone] because people have a lot of prejudices. I’m struggling with the apps.

“For me, it’s all about connecting with someone right away and having a conversation and being like, ‘Oh, wow.’

“I remember Jamie Redknapp saying to me, ‘There’s a Raya dating app…’ So I was on it but I was scared to hook up.

Alex talked about his future plans admitted she would “love” to have children when talking about turning 40 in two years’ time.

The television presenter admitted that in the past she was not ready to have a child, but if she felt the time was right, she would have a child on her own.

Alex went on to talk about the online trolling he has had to deal with ever since retires from football and becomes a broadcaster.

He candidly admitted that online bullies sometimes made him question whether he was “really good at his job,” and he talked about these fears in therapy.

His latest comments about his dating life come after he confirmed his former relationship with teammate Kelly Smith in his memoir.

The 43-year-old played alongside Kelly for both England and Arsenal and admitted she was his “first love” as he spoke of the “heartbreak” following the break-up.

In the book How (Not) To Be Strong, Alex said it would be “cheating” not to soak up the time they spent together as they helped each other face their demons.

Sources close to Alex revealed at the time that he has had relationships with both men and women, but “doesn’t call himself anything.”

Speaking to The Mirror at her book launch, she said: “I’m writing this book and I want to tell everything. I thought I would be cheating you if I didn’t include it.

“For me it’s like the first love story, I fell madly and deeply in love. And yes, there’s that heartbreak and all that stuff, but it’s a huge part of my life and I wouldn’t go back and change it.

‘I’m excited to be a mum’: Alex also admitted that she would “love” to have children and said that if she felt like it, she would go it alone.

– Because that feeling of love, the excitement, and what it gives, had to be there.

Alex recalled how Kelly helped him cope with his traumatic childhood while struggling with alcoholism.

After the breakup, Kelly married DeAnna Dobosz in 2016, with whom he had two children.

Alex has remained largely tight-lipped about her past relationships, although she is rumored to be in a relationship with Coronation Street’s Sam Robertson in 2020.
