According to Katherine Ryan, it is not controversial that Leo, who dates young women, is called “rude” and “weird”.

Katherine Ryan says she doesn’t mind being a “poster girl” urging older celebrities to date women much younger than them.

The 39-year-old comedian has shared a number of tweets and videos about the issue, but says she’s happy with the attention and hopes it reaches younger women.

Ryan told MailOnline: ‘I’m not at all interested in backlash or killing culture.

“I’m interested in hurting people’s feelings, believe it or not.

“I know James Argent has had a difficult time and I don’t want to criticize someone who is vulnerable.

“But at the end of the day, I kind of became the poster girl, going up against grown men, powerful men, famous men dating teenagers.

“I didn’t choose that life, this life chose me.

“I don’t think it’s controversial to say it’s rough or weird, and I’m very happy to beat that drum as long as I need to.”

She went on to say, “I don’t talk to men because that’s how I get the backlash, what I get in my messages is that these men are like, ‘I’m sorry you’d rather date a Ferrari than an old jerk and I don’t want you like I’m ever going to give them the time of day!

“But I don’t talk to men at all because I understand that a lot of people find that age group attractive — I’m not going to solve that problem.

“I speak to young women because I happen to have the ears of a lot of teenage girls and young women.

“I look at my audience and I have people my own age, I have couples, but I also have a lot of teenagers, so even if one of them hears what I’m saying and says, ‘Oh, maybe that guy is interested in me, because being bossy he wants me, or because women his age don’t talk to him, maybe I’ll skip that.”

He concludes: “I’m basically Leonardo DiCaprio trying to reach as many young women as I can.”

Earlier, when asked what “crime” Leo and Argent, who are reported to be dating women in their teens, had committed, he said: “No crime, just a creepy pattern.”

It all seemed to start when Katherine tweeted: “Few people are talking about Leonardo DiCaprio, almost 50, ‘getting close’ to a 19-year-old teenage girl.”

He also joked, “This year Giant got too old for Leonardo DiCaprio to be in it.
